Changing Election Dates with COVID-19
COVID-19 is a rapidly changing issue in the United States. Currently, restrictions and order vary tremendously on a state by state basis. While Informed Election has information about primaries and possible voting procedures, the most up to date and accurate information for your specific scenario will come from your Secretary of State. Many primary elections have been postponed. Please keep in mind that while some states are virtually fully open at this time, many are still under strict stay at home orders that restrict movement. The list below has all current primary election updates. Please continue to check back for more updated information.
What you can do to help (and Vote!)
- If your state allows it, you may go to vote in person.
- If this is true, your state most likely is enforcing mandatory social distancing at the polls
- Simply because your state allows it does not mean this is your only option, if you are uncomfortable. Please refer below for more options.
- Request a vote-by-mail ballot if your state has a stay at home order, or you are uncomfortable voting in person.
- Individual state policies vary tremendously for this. Please visit "How to Vote" for more information.
- Certain state do not allow for vote-by-mail ballots. In that case, refer to option #3.
- Request an absentee ballot if your other options are unavailable.
- All states have this as an option, though the process for obtaining one is different for each state.
